Synopsis: The Ones We Leave Behind follows Abby Chung, a Public Trustee investigator tasked with finding the next-of-kin of Beatrice, an elderly woman who died alone. As Abby delves into Beatrice’s solitary past, she grapples with her own strained relationships—with her aging mother and long-term partner. The investigation becomes a mirror for Abby’s life, revealing themes of loneliness, legacy, and human connection. The play offers a moving reflection on mortality and the quiet bonds that shape us.
